Fractional Monetization Expert
Job Description
The organization is an early-stage company building a consumer utility and data product to help people in rural areas discover local events. The organization launched a beta pilot in a rural county and is seeking a fractional monetization expert to define and validate a revenue model that balances low-cost local adoption with longer-term data licensing and partnership opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Design and model pricing strategies for the product, venue partners, and white‑label integrations (including partner dashboards and local media integrations)
- Architect token/credit economics and microtransaction models; recommend implementation and testing approaches
- Build financial models and run pricing tests to pressure-test assumptions with local partners (local media, chambers of commerce, venues)
- Define data monetization and licensing strategies for downstream customers (economic development, logistics, real estate, and similar organizations)
- Produce go-to-market pricing materials: proposals, partner-facing pricing sheets, and short-term partner onboarding plans
- Advise on product vs. monetization trade-offs and prioritize features that unlock revenue
- Work with founders, advisors, and prospective partners to rapidly iterate and validate hypotheses ahead of partner meetings
- Provide clear deliverables and milestones, with a monthly retainer-style reporting and invoicing cadence
Qualifications
- Proven experience in app/platform monetization, subscription and/or marketplace pricing
- Demonstrated expertise designing token/credit economics or microtransaction systems
- Experience developing data licensing or data-product pricing strategies
- Strong financial modeling and analytics skills (comfort with spreadsheet models; SQL and visualization tools such as Tableau preferred)
- Product and go-to-market experience in early-stage startups; able to translate pricing into partner-ready proposals
- Track record working with local media, chambers, or venue partnerships is a plus
- Comfortable operating as a fractional/consulting resource (approximately 8–12 hours/week), delivering fast, prioritized outcomes
- Prefer candidates with lived experience or go-to-market familiarity in rural communities for cultural fit and practical insight
