Interim Head of Finance

Location: Amsterdam
Type: Temporary, On-site
Schedule: 3 days per week (potential to convert to permanent role)

Your Mission

As Interim Head of Finance, you'll own and scale the day-to-day finance function at Insify as we grow across Europe. You'll partner with the CEO and the exec team on planning, budgeting, and the financial decisions that shape the business, while running a tight, lean operation underneath. Your work decides how confidently we can move on the numbers, reporting, and compliance across NL, FR, and DE.

Responsibilities

Run and stabilise our finance operations from day one across accounting, cash management, tax, compliance, and business partnering, keeping the function fully operational throughout the interim period and leaving it in a stronger, well-documented state.
Take immediate ownership of the monthly close, budgeting, and forecasting cycles, and turn the output into decisions the leadership team can act on
Own our reporting to risk carriers and stay ahead of regulatory and statutory obligations across NL, FR, and DE
Partner with the CEO and exec team on board materials, investor updates, and the financial story behind the strategy
Be genuinely hands-on with the AI and automation layer in finance: pull your own data, build your own reports, and replace manual work where you can
Prepare and review the annual financial statements
Lead first-year statutory audit preparation end to end
Run payroll
Document processes and ensure a clean handover to the permanent hire

Required Qualifications

8+ years in finance, combining a foundation in Big 4 (audit, M&A, or transaction services) with operational finance in a fast-moving tech company
Read a balance sheet with a commercial lens, not just an accounting one
Have run the full close-to-report cycle and tightened the underlying processes as you went
Technically self-sufficient: you write your own SQL, model in Excel, and use AI tools to remove finance grunt work
Operate as a real business partner across product, ops, and commercial, not as a back-office gatekeeper

Compensation

€700 - €1,000 a day
