### The Opportunity

Seva Dental Team is looking for an experienced accounting leader who can see the big picture—and is still willing to roll up their sleeves when the details need attention.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Accounting & Administration will lead Seva's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and key administrative functions. This is a highly hands-on role with one direct report, so the right person must be equally comfortable setting direction and doing the work.

This person will play an important role in building the financial infrastructure needed to support a growing, multi-practice organization while ensuring we remain accurate, compliant, and financially sound.

This is an opportunity to do more than maintain existing processes. You will help shape how Seva operates as we grow—creating stronger systems, reducing manual work, bringing clarity to complex information, and ensuring our leaders and practices have the financial support they need to succeed.

This position is intended to become a full-time leadership role. However, Seva is open to considering an experienced candidate who would prefer to begin on a part-time schedule and transition to full-time as the organization continues to grow. The timing and expectations for that transition would be mutually agreed upon during the hiring process.

### What You'll Do

**Accounting & Financial Leadership**

*   Personally lead and execute key accounting activities across a growing, multi-entity organization
*   Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, account reconciliations, payroll coordination, and month-end and year-end close
*   Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
*   Develop, maintain, and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
*   Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic planning
*   Manage cash flow, working capital, and key financial performance metrics
*   Coordinate audits, tax filings, and relationships with external accounting, tax, and advisory partners
*   Manage lending relationships and ensure timely, accurate reporting to financial institutions
*   Identify discrepancies, unusual results, and emerging concerns and bring them forward with clear recommendations
*   Translate financial information into practical, actionable insights for leaders across the organization

**Administration & Process Improvement**

*   Lead key administrative functions, including vendor management, contract administration, insurance programs, and internal financial processes
*   Partner with HR to support payroll, benefits, and other team member-related financial processes
*   Evaluate accounting workflows and identify opportunities to reduce manual work through automation and better system integration
*   Improve tools and processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
*   Establish consistent processes across practices and business entities while accounting for the realities of a growing organization
*   Build systems that can support continued growth and future acquisitions without creating unnecessary complexity

**Leadership & Collaboration**

*   Manage, mentor, and support one direct report
*   Serve as a trusted financial partner to the CEO and executive leadership team
*   Collaborate closely with Operations, HR, Clinical Leadership, IT, doctors, and practice leaders
*   Build relationships with practice teams through regular communication and periodic office visits
*   Support acquisitions, integrations, and system implementations
*   Help newly acquired practices transition into Seva's financial systems and processes
*   Deliver responsive, service-minded support to the practices we serve

**Compliance & Risk Management**

*   Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements
*   Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies
*   Manage organizational insurance programs and evaluate coverage needs
*   Safeguard sensitive financial information and maintain strong controls over systems, accounts, and organizational assets
*   Maintain appropriate documentation, controls, and reporting across the organization

### What We're Looking For

**Required Qualifications**

*   Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
*   At least seven years of progressive accounting experience
*   Experience managing or developing at least one accounting team member
*   Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and internal controls
*   Experience leading month-end and year-end close processes
*   Experience with audits and multi-entity accounting
*   Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and high-volume transaction processing
*   Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
*   High attention to detail without losing sight of the larger business objective
*   Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and nonfinancial audiences
*   Willingness to remain directly involved in the day-to-day accounting work
*   Must reside in Michigan or Ohio and be able to travel periodically to Seva practices in both states

**Preferred Qualifications**

*   CPA or equivalent professional certification
*   Experience in healthcare, dental, or another multi-location organization
*   Experience in a high-growth or acquisition-driven environment
*   Experience integrating newly acquired entities, systems, or financial processes
*   Experience improving accounting workflows through automation or system integration

### Schedule Flexibility

We recognize that an outstanding candidate may be returning to the workforce, transitioning from consulting or fractional work, or looking to increase their professional commitments over time. While our long-term need is for a full-time leader, we are open to discussing a part-time starting schedule with a defined path toward full-time employment.

Candidates interested in this option should be prepared to maintain consistent availability and take ownership of critical accounting deadlines, including month-end close, reporting, and other time-sensitive responsibilities.
