Fractional Content Marketer
Job Description
Overview
The organization is a U.S.-founded D2C beauty brand planning a relaunch in the coming months with a new product line. Marketing is the core of the sales engine—primarily visual social platforms today—with a need for a senior, hands-on fractional content marketer who can own both high-level strategy and day-to-day execution: social content strategy, email beyond the basic onboarding flow, metrics/dashboard ownership, and coordination with an external ads agency. This remote role starts soon and will be engaged on a monthly retainer.
Responsibilities
- Own social content strategy for visual social platforms (e.g., Instagram) and translate it into clear creative briefs for the social editor/video team.
- Produce and/or review social post and short-form video briefs (several briefs per week during planning cycles) that reflect contemporary fashion/beauty aesthetics.
- Manage and QA content production: review short-form videos, creatives, captions; ensure visual/tone consistency and technical accuracy.
- Lead email marketing strategy beyond the basic flow: conceptualize campaigns, write/brief/design emails that are purposeful and well-designed.
- Maintain and monitor the marketing dashboard and KPIs; flag issues, prioritize opportunities, and recommend optimizations.
- Coordinate with the paid ads agency—integrate paid and organic strategies, monitor ad spend efficiency, and surface where to push/pull budget.
- Scout platform trends daily and recommend timely content experiments; propose and run A/B tests to improve conversion and engagement.
- Deliver concise weekly topline updates (short meeting) and clear documentation/tasks for the team.
- Expand channel strategy as appropriate (e.g., new social formats, paid integrations) while keeping scope aligned to the monthly retainer.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of marketing experience with demonstrable senior-level work for beauty, fashion, or other high-visual D2C brands.
- Deep, current familiarity with visual social platforms and short-form video formats and what performs for beauty/fashion audiences.
- Strong aesthetic/design sensibility plus excellent copywriting—able to create on-brand briefs and review creative at a granular level.
- Proven ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
- Solid analytics skills: experience with dashboards, KPI tracking, and making data-driven recommendations.
- Experience managing external agencies and freelance production teams (editors, videographers, designers).
- Availability for ~5–10 hours/week (flexible scheduling) and able to start soon.
- Helpful but not required: experience with ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify) or prior fashion-forward brand experience.
