Overview

We are seeking a Fractional Head of Talent Acquisition to lead an initial approximately 3-month engagement. This is a full-time capacity role (not part-time), with strong potential to convert to a permanent position based on fit. The ideal candidate will assess and rebuild the organization's talent acquisition function while also rolling up their sleeves to recruit directly for open creative roles. This person will initially report to the CEO and partner closely with the Senior Director of People.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an independent assessment of the organization's current talent acquisition process, team structure, and tools (including how roles are scoped, posted, sourced, and interviewed).
• Directly manage and mentor the existing internal recruiting team (a few recruiters).
• Design and implement a full-funnel recruitment strategy and process, with emphasis on identifying, sourcing, and tracking qualified candidates.
• Partner with executive leadership and hiring managers to forecast hiring needs and support workforce planning aligned with company growth.
• Track and analyze recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, source of hire, pipeline conversion, and offer acceptance rates to improve hiring effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain proactive talent pipelines for critical roles across corporate teams.
• Partner with the Senior Director, People to strengthen and promote the employer brand to attract top talent.
• Train and support hiring managers on structured interviewing, evaluation frameworks, and best practices to ensure consistent and equitable hiring processes.
• Continuously evaluate and optimize the recruiting process to improve efficiency, candidate experience, and hiring manager satisfaction.
• Partner cross-functionally with HR, leadership, and department heads to support organizational growth and talent strategy.
• Source qualified candidates using LinkedIn and the organization's applicant tracking system to fill open positions and proactively identify top talent.
• Review and occasionally prepare necessary documents for job openings, candidates, and hiring managers — including job descriptions, scorecards, and interview itineraries.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in recruiting or talent acquisition, with experience leading or owning a recruiting function, ideally within retail or consumer goods.
• Experience building or scaling talent acquisition processes in a high-growth organization.
• Track record of building proactive sourcing strategies and pipelines in competitive talent markets.
• Experience personally closing high-impact or leadership roles.
• Experience recruiting for creative roles (art director, creative director, product/UX designer, marketing director, etc.).
• Background scaling talent functions within organizations roughly in the $50M–$250M revenue range or ~100–300 employees; large conglomerate experience is not a fit.
• Comfortable operating as both a strategic partner and a hands-on individual contributor/recruiter.
• Based in or willing to be embedded part-time in New York State or Louisiana; open to other locations for the right candidate.
• Strong point of view on modern TA structure, employer branding, and creative hiring strategy.
• Prior consulting or fractional experience is a plus, given the need to move quickly and add value from day one.
