Legal Operations Advisor (Advisory)

Overview

Seeking a mid-career Legal Operations / Advisory contractor to support a growing organization on international and commercial legal matters. This is a part-time, advisory role (around 5–10 hours/week) focused on master services agreements, customer contracts, cross-border entity setup, and employment/contractor compliance for international engagements.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate master services agreements (MSAs), customer contracts, and related commercial agreements
• Advise on and coordinate international entity creation and structuring to qualify for global customer contracts
• Provide employment law guidance for international contractors (classification, contract terms, local compliance)
• Support ad hoc legal tasks and operational legal projects as needed (contract templates, risk assessments, process recommendations)
• Coordinate with external counsel and relevant stakeholders where specialist/local advice is required
• Maintain pragmatic, business-focused legal solutions aligned with organizational growth and sales timelines

Qualifications

• Preferred: JD, LLM, JD/MBA, or equivalent legal degree (not required to be a practicing or actively licensed attorney)
• Mid-career level: approximately 5–10 years of relevant experience in commercial contracts, international entity formation, and cross-border employment/contractor issues
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating MSAs and customer-facing contracts
• Demonstrated experience working with international entity formation or structuring to enable cross-border contracting
• Strong practical understanding of international contractor classification and employment/compliance considerations
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate legal risk into clear business recommendations
