Fractional Finance Director

Location: Bradford BD11 1BY

Compensation: £900 - £1,500 a day

Work Arrangement: Temporary, Part-time (normally one day per week, with on-site work in Drighlington during diagnostic and key interviews)

Role Overview

Sonno requires a hands-on Fractional FD for an initial 12-week assignment to diagnose the finance position, install cash and control disciplines, create management reporting and lead recruitment/onboarding of a permanent Financial Controller.

Required Deliverables

Ten-day diagnostic of accounts, cash, tax, stock, payroll, systems, access and people, with ranked red-flag register.
Daily cash visibility, weekly 13-week cash forecast and controlled supplier-payment process.
Chart of accounts/reporting dimensions, month-end checklist, compliance calendar and approval matrix.
First management pack covering P&L;, balance sheet, cash, stock, product/channel margin, advertising, delivery and imports.
Shopify-to-payment-provider-to-bank reconciliation design and treatment of refunds, fees, chargebacks and customer deposits.
Manufacturing cost model and import landed-cost methodology, with clear data ownership.
End-to-end Financial Controller recruitment: job design, sourcing brief, screening, technical case, interviews, recommendation and onboarding.
Documented handover, six-month backlog and recommendation on whether monthly advisory support remains useful.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Strong SME manufacturing, stock and product-costing experience
Professionally qualified
Willing to work on site in Drighlington during the diagnostic and key interviews

Working Style Required

Hands-on enough to inspect transactions, reconciliations and factory data.
Independent and willing to challenge founders with evidence.
Able to explain finance in clear commercial language.
Comfortable creating practical spreadsheets and controls before recommending major systems.
Low ego, documented handover and no attempt to make Sonno dependent on indefinite support.
