Gravity Plumbing and Heating

The Gravity Group operates multiple divisions within the Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, and Commercial Construction industries throughout Ontario. Our companies continue to grow rapidly, and we are focused on building strong internal systems, accurate reporting, and long-term financial stability. We currently have internal staff handling daily bookkeeping and data entry. We are now looking for a senior-level financial professional to oversee and verify the accuracy of our reporting and compliance processes.

## Position Overview

This role will focus on monthly review, oversight, compliance, reconciliations, and financial reporting across multiple operating companies.

Estimated commitment:
- Approximately 10–15 hours per month
- Flexible scheduling
- Combination of remote and in-office work may be considered

## Responsibilities

- Review monthly bookkeeping entries and reconciliations
- Verify accuracy of financial reporting
- Review and assist with:
  - HST filings
  - Payroll remittances
  - EHT obligations
  - Corporate tax planning/prepayments
- Review AP and AR aging reports
- Monitor cash flow reporting and account balances
- Assist with monthly close procedures
- Identify accounting inconsistencies or operational concerns
- Help implement improved financial controls and processes
- Coordinate with ownership and internal administration staff
- Support preparation of clean, bank-ready financial statements

## Qualifications

- CPA designation preferred
- Experience with service-based and/or construction accounting
- Strong understanding of:
  - Job costing
  - Payroll remittances
  - Multi-entity accounting
  - Financial controls
  - QuickBooks Online
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and identify issues proactively
