Fractional CPA / Financial Controller
Job Description
Position Overview
This role will focus on monthly review, oversight, compliance, reconciliations, and financial reporting across multiple operating companies.
Estimated commitment:
- Approximately 10–15 hours per month
- Flexible scheduling
- Combination of remote and in-office work may be considered
Responsibilities
- Review monthly bookkeeping entries and reconciliations
- Verify accuracy of financial reporting
- Review and assist with:
- HST filings
- Payroll remittances
- EHT obligations
- Corporate tax planning/prepayments
- Review AP and AR aging reports
- Monitor cash flow reporting and account balances
- Assist with monthly close procedures
- Identify accounting inconsistencies or operational concerns
- Help implement improved financial controls and processes
- Coordinate with ownership and internal administration staff
- Support preparation of clean, bank-ready financial statements
Qualifications
- CPA designation preferred
- Experience with service-based and/or construction accounting
- Strong understanding of:
- Job costing
- Payroll remittances
- Multi-entity accounting
- Financial controls
- QuickBooks Online
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and identify issues proactively

Compensation
- Competitive hourly or monthly retainer structure
- Compensation based on experience and qualifications
- Pay: $66,625.86–$133,286.57 per year

We are now looking for a senior-level financial professional to oversee and verify the accuracy of our reporting and compliance processes.
