Senior Manager Tax (6-Month Fixed Term Contract)

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our tax team on a 6-month fixed term contract, covering an internal secondment. This is a key role reporting to the Head of Tax, offering exposure to both tax advisory and compliance across a large, complex financial services environment.
What you'll be doing
You'll play a critical role in supporting the effectiveness of the New Zealand tax function, including:
- Providing commercial, technically sound tax advice across business activities and transactions
- Monitoring and advising on tax law changes and their impact
- Ensuring compliance with tax obligations and contributing to effective tax risk management
- Supporting the delivery of accurate tax reporting and returns across the Group
- Engaging with Inland Revenue and resolving queries or areas of uncertainty
- Supporting junior team members and contributing to overall team capability
What you'll bring
- Chartered Accountant / CPA or qualified lawyer
- Significant tax experience (ideally 10+ years) within Big 4, legal or corporate environments
- Strong knowledge of NZ tax (ideally with exposure to financial services)
- Proven ability to provide pragmatic, commercial advice in complex environments
- Experience engaging with tax authorities and managing stakeholder relationships
- A collaborative approach with strong communication and influencing skills
