Content Marketing & Positioning Strategist (Fractional)
Health Benefits Marketing CompanyPosted Oct 5, 2026
Job Description
Overview
The organization (fully remote) is seeking a senior fractional Content & Messaging Lead to deliver an urgent, short-term go-to-market messaging and content program. This project-focused consultant will own a tight, actionable positioning and messaging playbook and then translate it into service-line content for specific care areas. Engagement is expected to be roughly 90 days, ~15–20 hours/week, and to start soon. Conversion to full-time is possible but not required.
Responsibilities
- Lead creation of a concise positioning and messaging playbook and framework that the growth team can action immediately (deliverable in the first half of the engagement).
- Translate the playbook into a content library for specific service lines (second half of the engagement), including headlines, body copy, email/SMS/web copy, and one-pagers.
- Own writing and editing of the copy — not just direction — ensuring voice/tone consistency across channels (email, SMS, direct mail, web).
- Provide practical guidance on imagery/visual direction (working with stock imagery) and content templates the internal team can reuse.
- Collaborate closely with the head of growth, a director-level creative partner, and analytics/data stakeholders to ensure messaging aligns with measurement and channel needs.
- Produce prioritizable, sprintable deliverables (clear timelines, acceptance criteria) so the team can execute in the coming months.
- Handoff documentation and playbook assets for ongoing iteration and potential full-time transition.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a senior content marketer, brand/messaging strategist, or creative director with a heavy emphasis on copywriting (portfolio required).
- Track record building messaging playbooks and translating them into tangible content libraries and channel-ready copy.
- Experience in healthcare or in employer benefits/HR-focused products; adjacent backgrounds (financial benefits, wellness, perks marketplaces) are also relevant.
- Comfortable working remotely, US-based (HIPAA/enterprise requirements); able to start soon.
- Strong project orientation: can deliver high-quality outputs under a ~90-day timeline and operate at ~15–20 hours/week.
- Collaborative communicator who can align marketing requirements with data/analytics teams and working creative resources.
About the Company
- A marketing services firm focused on supporting employer-sponsored health and benefits programs.
- The organization helps craft go-to-market messaging and content to improve member engagement, simplify benefits communication, and support cost and outcome goals for employers.
