Job Description

We are an early-stage, self-funded web platform launching an upcoming MVP aimed at consumer and service‑professional audiences. We need a hands-on CMO / Performance Marketing Lead to own launch strategy and execution — turning alpha/beta testers into engaged users and driving growth through social content, paid acquisition, and email nurture. This role is mission-critical to deliver a successful public launch and establish repeatable acquisition channels.

Responsibilities

  • Own launch marketing strategy and day-to-day execution across social, paid, and email channels.
  • Produce and publish high-performing social content and short-form video (reels/TikTok) that supports conversions and brand storytelling.
  • Plan, execute, and optimize paid acquisition campaigns on major social and search platforms to meet CAC and conversion goals.
  • Build and run email marketing and nurture sequences to onboard and convert alpha/beta users.
  • Coordinate closely with the in-house social manager, development team, publicist, legal, and external advisors to ensure aligned messaging and timing.
  • Implement experiments and A/B tests across creative, audience, and funnel to improve performance iteratively.
  • Track, analyze, and report on KPIs (activation, conversion, LTV, CAC); use analytics to prioritize tactics.
  • Be boots-on-the-ground for hands-on implementation, including in-person collaboration in California as needed.
  • Manage outside contractors/agencies and marketing budgets to maximize ROI.
  • Support founder communications and help refine product positioning for target consumer and service-professional audiences.

Qualifications

  • Proven zero-to-one experience launching a consumer web or platform product (direct experience taking an MVP through alpha/beta to public launch).
  • Demonstrated performance marketing track record across social and paid channels with measurable results.
  • Strong content production chops for short-form video and social-first creative, able to produce or oversee content end-to-end.
  • Experience designing and executing email acquisition/onboarding/nurture flows.
  • Hands-on, execution-first operator who can implement rather than only advise.
  • Comfortable working in a bootstrapped, founder‑led early-stage environment; prior early-stage startup experience preferred.
  • Data-driven mindset: experience with analytics, tracking, attribution, and A/B testing.
  • Ability to meet in person in California as needed and start in the coming weeks to support upcoming MVP/alpha testing.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and ability to coordinate with development, PR, legal, and advisors.
