**About You**

The Fractional CFO will help build and operate Optiml’s financial operating system during a critical scale-up phase.

This role combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational execution, ensuring that the company maintains strong financial discipline, liquidity visibility, and investor-ready reporting while scaling its B2B SaaS business.

Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, the Fractional CFO will oversee outsourced accounting partners, establish structured financial processes, and introduce pragmatic automation that reduces manual work and improves financial transparency.

A key focus of the role is ensuring high data consistency across finance, operations, and commercial teams, enabling leadership to make faster and better-informed decisions.

The role also includes financial coordination across Optiml’s Swiss parent company and its international subsidiaries (Germany and the UK, with potential other expansions), ensuring clean consolidation, governance, and scalable processes as the company grows.

## Tasks

**Key Objectives**

- Build and operate Optiml’s financial operating system: forecasting, reporting, and liquidity visibility.
- Deliver investor-grade financial reporting and board readiness while supporting fundraising and strategic decisions.
- Ensure clean integration between finance, commercial data (with existing GTM Ops role), and multi-entity operations across Switzerland, Germany, the UK, and beyond

**Responsibilities**

**1 - Financial Planning, Modeling & Strategic Support**

- Own Optiml’s financial planning and forecasting processes, including budgeting, scenario planning, and long-range financial models.
- Translate commercial strategy, hiring plans, and operational investments into structured financial projections.
- Develop financial models supporting fundraising planning, pricing decisions, and expansion strategies.
- Support leadership in strategic decisions with clear financial analysis and scenario modeling.

**2 - Financial Reporting & Operating System**

- Design and maintain a structured financial reporting framework that provides leadership with clear visibility into company performance.
- Prepare monthly or quarterly financial statements with key accruals and adjustments.
- Develop standardized reporting templates for internal leadership, board updates, and investor communication.
- Ensure financial reporting remains consistent, audit-ready, and scalable.

**3 - Accounting Oversight & Multi-Entity Finance Governance**

- Oversee external accounting providers and ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping, filings, and compliance.
- Ensure structured financial coordination across Optiml AG (Switzerland) and subsidiaries in Germany and the UK.
- Maintain clear consolidation processes across entities, ensuring consistent reporting standards and financial transparency.
- Review financial statements and ensure compliance with applicable accounting and tax requirements.
- Implement pragmatic financial controls and approval processes appropriate for a venture-backed startup.

**4 - Cash, Liquidity & Treasury Management**

- Maintain clear visibility into cash runway, burn rate, and capital allocation.
- Develop financing strategies to support business growth (e.g. grants, debt, etc.)
- Develop structured cash forecasting models aligned with the company’s commercial pipeline and operating plans.
- Support the leadership team with treasury strategy, banking relationships, and capital planning.
- Help establish financial discipline around budget management and capital deployment.

**5 - Investor, Board & Fundraising Support**

- Support preparation of board materials, investor updates, and financial reporting packages.
- Contribute financial insights to fundraising discussions, including capital planning and financial projections.
- Help prepare financial narratives for equity financing, venture debt, and other capital structures.
- Ensure financial reporting is consistent with investor expectations and venture-backed company standards.

**6 - Finance Systems, Data Integration & Automation**

- Work closely with GTM Operations to ensure financial and commercial data remain aligned.
- Integrate CRM, invoicing, and accounting systems to improve forecast accuracy and reporting consistency.
- Introduce pragmatic automation and structured reporting workflows that reduce manual finance work.
- Design finance processes that prioritize data consistency, automation, and transparency.

## Requirements

- CPA or equivalent accounting qualification required.
- 7–10+ years of experience in finance roles, including startup or scale-up environments.
- Is comfortable operating as a player-coach, combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Strong experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and financial reporting systems.
- Experience overseeing outsourced accounting partners or hybrid finance structures.
- Experience operating in venture-backed B2B SaaS companies.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and financial reporting frameworks.

Fractional CFO to build financial systems for real estate AI startup

As a **Fractional Security & Compliance Lead (20-40%)** at Optiml, you will take full ownership of our security and compliance function. You’ll run our SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 programs end to end, coordinating audits, managing evidence and remediation, and ensuring controls stay effective as the company scales.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll administer and secure our internal IT and identity stack (Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, Google Workspace, access management, device provisioning), design and enforce RBAC and least-privilege access, and own onboarding and offboarding processes. You’ll also respond directly to enterprise customer security questionnaires, maintaining a clear, reusable knowledge base.

You’ll work closely with the CTO and Head of Operations but operate independently day to day, with flexibility around hours and workload. We’re looking for someone who has _done this before_—who can move quickly, automate where possible, and treat security as a practical enabler for the business, not a checkbox exercise.

## Responsibilities

- Manage the full lifecycle of SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 compliance programs, utilizing automation platforms like Vanta to ensure continuous control monitoring.
- Serve as the primary liaison and coordinator for external compliance auditors, managing all evidence submission and remediation timelines.
- Lead rapid and accurate responses to technical security questionnaires that arise during the enterprise sales due diligence process by maintaining a knowledge base
- Securely administer and harden core internal IT infrastructure, specifically Google Workspace and Microsoft 365/Entra ID.
- Handle the IT onboarding/offboarding process for new employees.
- Design, implement, and audit Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) across all systems to strictly enforce the Principle of Least Privilege and protect customer data.
- Develop, maintain, and socialize essential security policies and documentation aligned with GRC frameworks.

## Requirements

**You Have:**

- Direct experience managing compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001) using Vanta or other.
- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365/Entra ID and Google Workspace security configurations.
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles, including RBAC, SSO, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enforcement.
- Proficiency in no-code platforms or scripting languages for automating administrative tasks and enforcing configuration standards.
- Proven ability to operate independently and drive complex, cross-functional security projects.
