Helping tech founders in their legal and business decision-making
Burak is specialized in personal data protection law, data privacy, and the governance of artificial intelligence. He acts as a fractional executive and/or board advisor to technology startups and scale-ups, providing guidance on legal regulations pertinent to these domains. Additionally, he offers counsel to early-stage venture capital funds.
Burak holds an LL.M. degree in Law and Technology from Tilburg University. He graduated from Başkent University with a degree in Economics in 2006 and from Istanbul Commerce University with a degree in Law in 2014. Burak possesses CIPP/E certification, a global industry standard in personal data protection under EU law, as well as ISO/IEC 27001 and 27701 Lead Auditor certifications, which attest to his expertise in global information security auditing.
In addition to his legal expertise, Burak has been actively engaged in entrepreneurship acceleration and development programs as a mentor and trainer since 2017. He has offered guidance and training services in various initiatives, including the Google Academy, VISA Innovation Program, WorkUp İş Bankası, BTM (Istanbul Chamber of Commerce), Arya Women Investment Platform, and several others. Additionally, he acts as a guest lecturerer in TU Delft and Tilburg University and instructs the “Finance, Risk and Law” module for master's students at Unknown University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.
